°µÍø½ûÇø Doncaster clinched their first-ever victory at the annual °µÍø½ûÇø VARSITY Tournament, held this year at the Allam Sports Centre at the University of Hull. After a string of victories from °µÍø½ûÇø Pontefract in previous years, Doncaster’s triumph brings the trophy to Auckley for the first time.
The event, which brings together teams from °µÍø½ûÇø Pontefract, °µÍø½ûÇø Doncaster, and °µÍø½ûÇø Bradford, saw great competition across a wide range of sports, from men’s football and rugby sevens to netball and basketball.
This year’s tournament featured an expanded lineup of sports, including indoor cricket, pickleball, badminton, and for the first time ever, dodgeball, which quickly became a highlight of the competition.
The annual VARSITY tournament remains a highly anticipated event in the college sporting calendar, and with new sports being introduced each year, it’s clear that the competition will continue to evolve and inspire students across the Trust’s colleges. With °µÍø½ûÇø Doncaster’s first victory, the stage is set for an even more intense and competitive event next year, as all three colleges look to claim the top spot.
